MAFF Market Forum Awards | Malmö Arab Film Festival 2016
Following three days of pitches for documentary, short film and feature film projects, the jurys have chosen the winners of this year’s MAFF Market Forum Development Funding and Doc Post Production Platform. MAFF is very proud to be able to offer this unique platform in cooperation with (among others) the Swedish Film Institute, Film i Skåne, International Media Support and Notre Dame University.
MAFF DEVELOPMENT FUNDING
MAFF Development Funding is an initiative aiming to create a platform for new international partnerships and thereby lay the basis for a wider diversity in film production.
FEATURE FILM
MAFF Development Funding Feature is a collaboration between MAFF and the Swedish Film Institute. The winning project is awarded 150 000 SEK (approx 17 000 euros) in development funds from the Swedish Film Institute.

DOCUMENTARY FILM
MAFF Development Funding Documentary is a collaboration between MAFF and the Swedish Film Institute. The winning project is awarded 50 000 SEK (approx 7000 euros) from the Swedish Film Institute.

SHORT FILM
MAFF Development Funding Short is a collaboration between MAFF and Film i Skåne. The project receiving first prize is awarded with 30 000 SEK from Film i Skåne. For second prize, there is an award of 2 000 dollars from Notre Dame University International Film Festival.

DOC POST PRODUCTION PLATFORM
Doc Post Production Platform was established with the aim to support and encourage Arab documentary filmmakers to complete their feature documenary projects and promote it at an international forum.

Additional award: Luxor African Film Festival Workshop
Mrs. Azza El Hosseiny, Luxor African Film Festival and director of Etisal was proud to invite two feature film projects to participate in a workshop together with five other promising productions in Luxor in 2017.
