ARAB FILM FEST LULEÅ 2020
24-25 November 2020 Biograf Royal canceled
Finally, Arab Film Fest Luleå is back! Arab Film Fest Luleå celebrates its fifth year under the corona Pandemic, which unfortunately forced all events that attract big crowds to alter the strategy they adopted for years. This also applies to Arab Film Fest Luleå for its fifth year for that, we designed the festival program and the film’s screenings to comply with the mass gathering
in accordance with the laws of the Swedish authorities. We hope that the year 2021 will bring positivity and hope toward a prosperous future. We’ve learned so much from this year’s Arab Film Fest Luleå main focus is to showcase Arab film with female perspectives and creators. The days of the festival will offer feature movies, short films, documentaries! All films shown have Swedish or English subtitles.
With a film as our universal language, we wish to work towards growing equality and tolerance. The Arabic cinema culture is tremendously rich and versatile with portrayals of diversity that lay down a base for dialogue.
The festival is arranged by MAFF, Malmö Arab Film Festival. MAFF is, in the west, the largest film festival focusing on Arab films. We work to create a platform for collaboration and exchange, where film enthusiasts from Scandinavian and the Arab world can meet. In connection to the festival, we also organize school cinema showings.
Arab Film Fest Luleå conducted with support from Luleå Kommun, Svenska Filminstitutet and Region Norrbotten.
In partnership with ABF Luleå, Arab Cinema in Sweden, Folkets Bio Royal, and Syrian Association in Norrbotten.
