Two paths cross on a hot, dry day in Cairo. The frail old cancer patient Shawky is desperate and searching for comfort and the young bride Doaa is trying to get to the wedding photographer in her wedding gown. Dry Hot Summers is the story of two lonely people that gets tangled up in an absurd journey through the streets of Cairo.

Born in 1978, Sherif Elbendary lives and works in Cairo. Elbendary graduated from the High Institute of Cinema in Cairo in 2007, and is a recognized and award-winning director. He is currently working on his first feature film Ali, the Goat, and Ibrahim.

Sherif El Bendary graduated from Faculty of Applied Arts in 2011. El Bendary made his breakthrough into filmmaking through a number of short films and documentaries; most notably his first short film from 2006, Sabah El Fol (Rise and Shine), which won several awards and was officially selected in numerous local and international film festivals.
