15th Malmö Arab Film Festival April 29 - May 5The 15th edition of Malmö Arab Film Festival took place in Malmö April 22 – May 5, 2025. The festival saw thousands of cinemagoers from Malmö and the region as well as famous actors, directors, producers, and film professionals attend the festival in Malmö to enjoy the year’s greatest films from the Arab world.
During the festival days, the festival screened 30 feature films, documentaries, and short films. The festival is the largest audience film festival in southern Sweden which also includes exhibitions, seminars, workshops, master classes, celebrations, and close encounters between audiences and filmmakers. More than 75 invited international guests from around the world visited the festival. The film program presents competition selections for feature films, and short films, as well as a wide range of panoramas, special selections, school cinema screenings, and family films.
We kept our tradition of hosting Malmö Industry Days (MID), the sidebar that aims to help filmmakers from both the Arab world and Nordic countries to develop, establish a sustainable network, and fund their film projects.
During this edition, the Egyptian actor Ahmed Helmy was honored for his excellent performance and significant contribution to Arab cinema.
